"WHAT IS LIKRE?" Likre is a proprietary artificial silk. It is colorfast, washable and breathable. It is made by only a single factory. Gentle wash in cold water. Mild soap, no bleach, line dry. Never iron.


Tapa is most often made from the paper mulberry tree. Tapa can be painted, decorated by rubbing, stamping, stencilling, smoking or dyeing.

 

It can be made over long periods of time with great attention to detail, or it can be a village-wide effort.

 

This sundress repeats some of the traditional geometric patterns.
